Paul, who is a development manager for William Davis Homes, is the proud owner of a new four-bedroom Solent property on the company’s Buttercup Fields development, a collection of two to four-bedroom homes on the western edge of Shepshed.
Although he has worked at the HBF 5-star housebuilding company for 28 years, Paul has never owned one of its houses until now, having moved in earlier this month.
For Paul, Buttercup Fields is more than his new address, because he has worked on it in a professional capacity, controlling the budget, working with the company’s land and planning department to shape the development and deciding which materials would be used on the houses.
It means that he has a unique insight into how Buttercup Fields has taken shape and an excellent understanding of what makes it different from other developments, something, he says, can be encompassed in one word – quality.
He said: “It certainly made a difference being able to look at the different plots available from the comfort of my desk and I’ve known about the development from its early days, so choosing the right home and moving in was extremely straightforward.
“I had a lot of involvement in the creation of Buttercup Fields and it’s great to live there as well. I like the layout, I know William Davis Homes insists on a high quality build and one thing I enjoy every time I go home is the look of the street scene.
“That aspect has always been very important to William Davis Homes and Buttercup Fields was the first development where I was able to influence the shades of brick and tiles we used for the homes themselves.
“It meant we were able to a variety of colours giving the properties a distinctive pepper-pot feel. I’m happy with the result and seeing it every day adds to the pleasure of living there too.”
The Solent is a contemporary home with a traditional exterior and practical layout and is one of more than 15 different house styles on offer at Buttercup Fields, which is situated close to the centre of Shepshed but within walking distance of the Leicestershire countryside.
Buttercup Fields is open daily and a range of purchasing options are available.
