New Commercial Director

Mark Waplington has been appointed to the role of Commercial Director and brings a wealth of skills and knowledge, acquired during an extensive career in the private housing sector.

Mark says: “William Davis Homes has always impressed me. They have a strong regional presence and a track record of success and stability which has been maintained over their 85 years of operation. Allied to that is their ethical approach to business which has generated a strong and dedicated team, and this team is something that I’m proud to become a part of.”

Mark is already impressed by how the company runs and is looking for further opportunities to simplify and improve the systems that drive it. He adds: “Despite years of proven success the company recognises the merit in reviewing its processes and implementing change where added value can be demonstrated. Furthermore, the tools are already in place to make improvements quickly and seamlessly.”

Asked what he sees as the biggest challenges to be faced in 2021, he cites the Coronavirus and Brexit. “Both of these have the potential to upset supply chains. William Davis Homes is an independent company and, in contrast to some of our competitors, we have the flexibility to set our own rules in finding solutions.”

“The commitment of our labour force is also a positive. We have a highly-committed, directly-employed workforce and well-established sub-contractors. This brings the benefit of consistently high quality standards and these relationships have resulted in the company achieving and maintaining the Home Builders Federation (HBF) 5 Star Builder status.

“I see 2021 as a year that will provide both external challenges and internal opportunities and I look forward to working with the rest of the team to deliver great performance.”
